November 5, 2020 Dear Chouteau-Mazie Families: I am reaching out to share with you that we were notified that one of our middle school students has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. This affects 2 staff members, and students from 7th grade primarily who have been identified as direct contacts. All staff members and students who are known to have been in direct contact have been contacted personally by school officials. If your student was identified as a direct contact, we ask that you monitor your student’s health and isolate at home to prevent the possible spread of the virus. According to federal law(s) we are not at liberty to share the name of the students in order to protect their privacy. It is imperative that we all continue to work together to ensure our community members remain safe and healthy. Please know that Chouteau-Mazie will continue to monitor the situation and will provide additional information as we receive it. Sincerely, Lori Helton Superintendent Chouteau-Mazie Public Schools

The Class of 2020 Graduation will be held Friday June 19, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. at the Chouteau High School Football Field. IN the event of rain, it will be moved to the Memorial Gym. We respectfully request that the number of guests be limited to up to 10 guests per graduate in order to safely social distance. We will utilize the stands for family seating marking off every other row. We will continue to follow the protocols set forth for entry into school facilities, and request that any family members who are experiencing fever, cough, and other symptoms of COVID-19, or have any known exposure to the virus to enjoy the ceremony via the live stream. Live stream information will be located either tomorrow or Friday morning. Be looking on our High School Facebook page. We know that this has not been the ideal situation for families, graduates, or the school, however, we are making every effort to make this graduation ceremony memorable for the Class of 2020.

Now that we have a couple of weeks of distance learning under our belts, CMS student council is challenging us to step it up!! This coming week will be virtual spirit week. Each day participate, take a photo of yourself and tag CMS Wildcats. Let’s all show our school spirit in a socially distant kind of way!
We are still required to take attendance. Please make sure your child is checking in with his or her teachers via Google Classroom, Google Meet, or email and completing their assignments. Please contact the office with any questions at 918-476-8336.
Third nine weeks report cards and the parent/student guide to distance learning have been mailed home. You can also find this document in your child's Google Classroom and on our district website (www.chouteauwildcats.com) by selecting the menu tab and then distance learning.
We want to thank you for your patience and flexibility during this closure. Although school buildings are closed, we are working to develop learning opportunities to ensure learning continues for the rest of the school year. We are navigating uncharted waters and are so proud of how everyone is stepping up to the challenge. This is a difficult situation, and we know you have many questions. We will be working to communicate plans as soon as possible. Please make sure your child is checking school e-mail and Google Classroom. We appreciate your understanding as we work through the logistics of this closure.
