High School Principal

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is an eleven-month administrative and supervisory position responsible for the development, support and administration of High School programming including High School Special Education. The position reports to the Superintendent.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plans and oversees programs and services designed to expand the availability of quality early education opportunities in the district consistent with the Board approved Continuous Strategic Improvement Plan.

2. Oversee the High School Special Education Program in coordination with the Special Education Director.

3. Maintains appropriate financial records as required by state and federal guidelines.

4. Prepares year end reports and program evaluations necessary to monitor and evaluate the quality of programs.

5. Coordinates the adoption of research based, developmentally appropriate curriculum in all programs of the district and the district's partner agencies in the community.

6. Provides for training in the adopted curriculum sufficient to support successful implementation.

7. Works with principals and other district administrators to ensure consistent implementation education opportunities throughout the district.

8. Coordinates district services for high school students with special education services.

9. Coordinates with the middle school principal in the district to ensure a smooth transition for students from middle school to high school.

10. Works with high school faculty and administrators on the periodic review of curriculum to ensure consistency within the building.

11. Develops an effective district wide program of supervision and support for programs offered by the district and programs offered in the community through partner agencies.

12. Assists in the recruiting, interviewing and selection of appropriate staff to implement the program.

13. Ensures that all high school employees have the appropriate certification for the role they are assigned based on state and federal certification guidelines.

14. Implements appropriate staff development and staff evaluation procedures necessary to ensure quality services for students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree

Oklahoma Administrator Certification.
