Chouteau Elementary School

Congratulations to our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders for accomplishing and surpassing their goal of completing 2,000 Rocket Math levels in the first semester! Friday, December 9th they will get to jump for joy on bounce houses to celebrate! We recommend they wear comfortable clothes and have socks on for the bounce houses. Hope to see them there!

Congratulations to our Gifted and Talented group. They had the opportunity to participate in the First Lego League Explore Challenge. Each team won an award. Team "One Smart Cookie" (Trenton Bendabout, Zach Witt, Rylan Morrison) won the Coding award, and team "G.I.R.L." (Kaylee Miller, Tess Yoder, Emma Corbett) won the Core Value award. Their challenge was to build a "Super Power" model out of Legos that helps generate, store and distribute energy to their community. Not pictured: Ava Valdez and Lily Smith.

Thank you PTO and Chouteau First Baptist church for partnering with CMPS to make sure 25 families recieved Thangiving baskets. Our students worked hard bringing canned good and then packing boxes.

Thank you to Representative Tom Gann and his wife Debbie for visiting Chouteau Elementary School. Three Student Lighthouse Team members gave them a tour and shared our school-wide goals, Wildcat Code, 7 Habits and a plethra of other exciting things we are doing. Representative Gann then gave a pep talk during our assembly about having an Attitude of Gratitude. We love giving tours and sharing all about what we are doing at Chouteau Elementary. Please let us know if you would also like a tour. Literacy Night was a success! We love having our parents in the building interacting with their child. The students were so excited to have you here as they dressed like their story book character and presented information about their character and the book. Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive HELP THOSE IN NEED! The Elementary Students are putting on a food drive to help those in need during the Thanksgiving holiday. Each class can bring the following items beginning November 7th until November 11, 2022. Canned SPAM Canned Tuna Canned Chicken Canned Turkey Mac-N-Cheese Instant mashed potatoes Canned Green Beans Canned Corn Canned Carrots Canned Yams Stuffing Mix Canned Mixed Veggies Canned Beans Jiffy Cornbread Mix Dry Gravy Mix All items gathered will be distributed to families in need of a Thanksgiving meal!

November 3rd 5-7pm Families, please join us for our 2nd annual Literacy Night! There will be a scavenger hunt & each family will receive a free book upon completion. Food will be in the cafeteria provided by CMPS. Judges are looking for: Confident speaker Display is neat Display includes key information about the book and/or character. Costume accurately reflects the book character or topic. Prizes: 1st Place in each category-$15 book fair credit 2nd Place in each category-certificate 3rd Place in each category-certificate *Judging will take place during the school day. Families can view the winners' boards and costumes in their teacher’s classrooms during Literacy Night 5-7pm.

Happy Halloween from the Elementary Library Book Fair! 🍂🖤🍁🍂🖤🍁 Hope to see everyone in the morning for the GRAND EVENT at 7 a.m. at the book fair!! H.U.GS HATS, UNDERWEAR, GLOVES, AND SOCKS Cape Chouteau Association of Professional Educators is asking for donations of hats, underwear, gloves, and socks. Once collected, these items will be distributed locally to those in need. Collection boxes will be located at each building office, and we will begin collecting on November 7th and will pick up all items on December 9th.
