Classes will be canceled Tuesday April 11th so that students and staff may attend the services for Ms. Snodgrass. We will have counselors and ministers on campus next week to help as we navigate this difficult time and deal with the loss of this precious teacher. Please reach out to your student’s school if needed or to any of the contacts below if we be of any help to you or your family. Shelly was a well-respected teacher who was known for her love of learning and for her heart for students. In the 16 years she spent in the district she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues. It is unthinkable that we will not have Shelly physically present in our hallways. I do know her spirit will live on indefinitely in the hearts of our school. Please continue to keep her family in your prayers. Employee Spotlight for Mazie Elementary: Irma Yoder and John Yoder. Both work in the cafeteria. Irma's favorite part about working at Mazie are the kids smiling. Her number one goal for the school year is to be king and friendly to all. She does an amazing job preparing our meals here at the school. Irma has been an employee at CMPS for 31 years. Irma will be retiring this year. She will be sorely missed! John's favorite part about working at Mazie is working with Irma. His number one goal is to stay at Mazie until retiring. He does a good job cleaning, cooking, and helping where he can. John has been employed at CMPS for many years, with 8 of them serving the Mazie campus.

November 5, 2020 Dear Chouteau-Mazie Families: I am reaching out to share with you that we were notified that one of our middle school students has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. This affects 2 staff members, and students from 7th grade primarily who have been identified as direct contacts. All staff members and students who are known to have been in direct contact have been contacted personally by school officials. If your student was identified as a direct contact, we ask that you monitor your student’s health and isolate at home to prevent the possible spread of the virus. According to federal law(s) we are not at liberty to share the name of the students in order to protect their privacy. It is imperative that we all continue to work together to ensure our community members remain safe and healthy. Please know that Chouteau-Mazie will continue to monitor the situation and will provide additional information as we receive it. Sincerely, Lori Helton Superintendent Chouteau-Mazie Public Schools

The Class of 2020 Graduation will be held Friday June 19, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. at the Chouteau High School Football Field. IN the event of rain, it will be moved to the Memorial Gym. We respectfully request that the number of guests be limited to up to 10 guests per graduate in order to safely social distance. We will utilize the stands for family seating marking off every other row. We will continue to follow the protocols set forth for entry into school facilities, and request that any family members who are experiencing fever, cough, and other symptoms of COVID-19, or have any known exposure to the virus to enjoy the ceremony via the live stream. Live stream information will be located either tomorrow or Friday morning. Be looking on our High School Facebook page. We know that this has not been the ideal situation for families, graduates, or the school, however, we are making every effort to make this graduation ceremony memorable for the Class of 2020.
