Wildcat Aviation Assignment: Students have been hired by NASA to deliver a payload to space!
Using materials provided, students use engineering practices they learned in class to build a rocket to deliver a payload.
Students use rocket balloons to create thrust. Using a fishing line attached to the ceiling and a straw to steer, they created their rockets and attach a payload container (paper cup or plastic sandwich bag) to deliver a payload (paperclips) to space.
Through trial and error, more teams have successfully delivered their payloads. Every team is learning teamwork, engineering practices, and physics concepts to make this work. Their critical thinking skills are hard at work! Way to go, Wildcats!
